About
Welcome to Little Bitty Bakes! I’m Liz (once known as Little Bitty, albeit ~25 years ago
). If you enjoy food (particularly of the sweet variety), you’ve come to the right place.

After starting to lose track of the many sweet treats I so frequently prepare, I created Little Bitty Bakes in 2010 as a way to chronicle my creations. From there, I grew to love writing and taking pictures as well as the creativity involved in brainstorming recipes, which brings us to today, where I like to think of Little Bitty Bakes as a little virtual bakery-cafe.

Here on the blog, you can find recipes that are fun and tasty, yet fairly simple and practical… because like me, I’m sure you don’t have all the time in the world to prepare delicious food. And while several recipes posted here are rather indulgent, you’ll also many that are fairly sensible. All of this pretty much sums up my own viewpoint on eating and food preparation!
Unless otherwise specified, all recipes on this blog are written and prepared by myself. Aside from a few cake decorating classes at a local craft store, I’m a self-taught baker and cook (just ask my mom, I didn’t even learn from her!). I’ve learned most of what I know from about ten years of at-home practice, hours of food network watching, and countless baking and cooking blogs.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Liz!
My name is Carmen, I am 18 years old and I am from Spain. I found your blog thanks to a link from another who had a picture of one of your delightful creations.
I LOVE your blog. I think it is really beautiful. And I have decided to write to you here because I do love cooking too and I usually go running.
I really like it. It takes my stress away and allows me to relax and think about how beautiful life really is.
Another thing that has shocked me from your blog and you is that you are from Syracuse, right?
I was there -well, at Jamesville- and I spent two months with an American Family. I really had a nice time and, right there is where I decided to begin running.
I am not as professional as you are, of course.
I just run 30 minutes or 40, 4 times a week.
And I like to have healthy habits too.
I will definately come to your blog and take some recipies, if you don’t mind!!
P.S. I am on my first school year (Studying the LAW career). If I was given a 2nd chance to change my studies, I would take Cooking.
You can e-mail me at my e-mail adress and tell me anything you want.
Thank you so much for reading my comment.
Carmen.
Hi Carmen – thanks for the note! Such a small world that you were over here and so close to where I live. Hopefully you weren’t here during the winter!
Good luck with school, sounds like you’ve got a great future!
Hi Liz! I’m Jimena and I’m from Mexico. I just found your blog and it’s very interesting!!! I love how you can make a lot of yummy stuff with food!!
Do you create the recipes? Because if so.. congrats
I will keep reading the blog.
BLESSINGS.
okay to totally weird you out with our similarities, I am also the youngest of four! I think we should do a Little Bitty vs Berties fact sheet!
Ha, that’s funny! And probably explains our free-spirited baking personalities. We really should do a fact sheet!
Hi, just found your blog – I also live near Syracuse! Can’t wait to read the rest of your posts
Hi Stacy! Small world
Glad you found my blog!
I’ve just spent a good half hour drooling over everything on your site and pinning at least 5 recipes. I LOVE that you use Chobani so often in your desserts–I’m always trying to find recipes that incorporate greek yogurt! Thanks for sharing all your recipes…I’m following your blog now!
Ha, thanks Julia! I’m borderline obsessed with Chobani, if you can’t tell.
Liz, I just saw Nicole’s post and followed the link. This is an awesome blog! I’m totally going to look through your recipes!
Aw, thanks Joelle! It’s my fun little hobby. Hope you’re doing well!
I nominated you for an inspirational blogger award because I think you’re AWESOME!

Aw, thanks! Too sweet — former swimmers/current runners unite!
crazy to see other “Bitty” Elizabeth’s out there…
Been Bitty for 24 years and they call me nothing else cant shake it.
Thank you for your blog! I, too, am a runner (just completed by 2nd marathon) and LOVE my sweets! I think it’s the one thing that is keeping the weight on and not falling off with all of the running I have been doing.
Thank you for your easy to follow recipes.
PS I can relate to your doctoral studies…I am also working on mine!
Hi Jenn! Sounds like we have a lot in common.
What are you working on your PhD in?
Educational Leadership
I am currently loosing my motivation for running…any advice for me? I ran a marathon a month ago and will be running a half this Sunday. Maybe I just need a break?! I am afraid that will drive me batty, though!
Thank you for any advice you might have!
Hmm, sounds like you might just need a break! I know a lot of people can train for races year-round, but personally, I enjoy the mental breaks.
Thanks for reaffirming my need for a break. It feels good hearing that from a fellow runner!
You bet! We all need a break every now and then.
