Can you believe it’s almost Memorial Day weekend?! I love Memorial Day weekend because it’s basically the unofficial start of summer. I also love Memorial Day weekend because my birthday, May 29th, often skirts itself around the long weekend.
This year, I will also love Memorial Day weekend because it’ll mark the last weekend before I publish my first-ever (and only?) e-book!
Yep, you heard read that right. I wrote an e-book!
Now here’s where you won’t be quite as surprised – I wrote an e-book full of recipes made with Greek yogurt!
The idea popped into my head a few months ago, and at first I was going to try to finish it by the end of the summer. But then my overly ambitious, creative self had the lovely idea finish the book in time for my birthday (5/29), so that I could offer the book for… $5.29! <– skip your Friday frappuccino and you’ve basically bought yourself an e-book
So there you have it… the e-book will be available for purchase right here on my blog, and I’ll include more details next week, but mark your calendars and save your pennies for this Tuesday, May 29th… Greek yogurt e-book day!
***
The e-book announcement is a tough act to follow, which is why I pulled out these bad boys today… chocolate cherry oatmeal cookies! (and yes, they’ll make an appearance in the e-book!)
These cookies are essentially a marriage between a brownie and an oatmeal cookie. Why didn’t I think to do this sooner? No joke, I’d put them in my top 5 cookie creations. The world would be a better, happier place if everyone could enjoy these soft, chewy, chocolatey cookies!
Enjoy, folks, and have a great holiday weekend.
Soft, chewy chocolate oatmeal cookies with sweet dried cherries. If you don’t have dried cherries on hand, substitute any dried fruit, or even chocolate chips! Makes 3 dozen cookies Prep time: 15 minutes Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add the yogurt and eggs; beat until mixed well. In a large mixing bowl, stir the cocoa, flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined. Stir in the dried cherries. Drop the dough by rounded tablespoon onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool on the cookie sheets 5 minutes before removing to cool completely.
Cook time: 12 minutes

), so a craving for anything cherry-flavored was sparked! Can’t wait to try it out some time soon!
And this recipe? I NEED to make it! My friend had dried cherries for their snack today (and refused to share
Mmm, dried cherries are tasty, right? And now I am craving them too! Hope you get your hands on some soon.

Can’t wait to check out your book!! I am obsessed with Greek yogurt.
Congrats! This is so cool
I love Greek yogurt, but haven’t done much more than eat it right out of the container for lunch. A book of recipes is exactly what I need to get more creative!
Eating it out of the container for lunch is a great way to enjoy it – I do all the time! But yes, I think you’ll love using Greek yogurt in recipes!
