So, let’s talking running… I’ve been neglecting running updates over here lately because, well, running and myself haven’t been getting along very well (I feel you, Susan!). Actually, my running has been pretty random — some days I feel great, other days I feel awful. Basically, I’m still recovering from my icy fall four weeks ago. I was hoping I’d be healed a little sooner but here we are, less than 48 hours away from the NYC Half, and Timmy Tailbone (my lower back) is still wimpering.
I decided earlier this week it’d be a game time decision to run the race this weekend. In fact, today alone, I was running, then not running, and now I’m back in (for any worrywarts, my chiropractor told me it’s okay to be running. I’ve been getting A.R.T. and Graston on my lower back/glute).
I’m pretty sure the excitement of March Madness is getting me riled up to tough this one out… running madness! I don’t know if it will be my best race ever, and I still reserve the right to get down to NYC and not run if my back is having a bad day on Sunday. If nothing else, my mom and I will get to enjoy five hours in the car (there and back), do some shopping, and eat cupcakes and pizza. You know, because I didn’t get enough of that last week.
I’m not just here to complain about my bum back, I actually wanted to share a video I submitted last night as an application to be part of Team Zico!

This was big, not only because I’ve fallen in love with Zico’s chocolate coconut water and would love to drink it all summer long as I prep for a fall marathon, but also because I hate talking about myself. It’s sort of strange doing a video that just consists of talking about myself (in between saying “um…” a bajillion times). I’m also pretty sure I’ve never put a video on the blog, so that’s a first itself…
Enjoy! And happy weekend!

I love love love zico chocolate coconut water… it’s also my favorite!!! REally cute video Liz! Hope you are doing well!
Chocolate is by far my favorite, although the pineapple is pretty good too! How are you doing? We (and by we, I obviously mean you) must be getting close to baby time!
Hey Liz,
I hope it all works out for you for the NYC half this weekend. Being an injured runner is not much fun. Enjoy NYC!!
Injuries are never fun, but they’re the nature of things, I guess! Thanks!
oh girl, i feel ya. I can’t run right now so i am trying to enjoy the break while resting. Good luck with team zico! perfect fit!
Yep, roll with the punches — when you can’t run, distract yourself elsewhere… and when you can, enjoy it! Hope you are back to running soon
You’re so cute I can’t stand it! I hope you are chosen to be a part of the team. Let us know if we can help in any way. Their chocolate coconut water is INSANE. Have a great race this weekend, Liz. Show Timmy who’s boss.
Aw, thanks! I’ll do my best to put Timmy in his place.
Hope you are feeling better and back to your running self soon. I have been a sporatic runner lately myself suffering with some SI pain (that I refuse to really admit that I have). It is always such a bummer!
Enjoy the NCAA green weekend!
Oh, SI pain, I know that… my sister is dealing with that, and I have a bit of it too. No fun! Hope you are back to normal soon!
Good luck, I’m sure you’ll be part of the team, the video is great!!!
Love this Liz!! Good job! I will be praying you make it!
Thanks for the shoutout! We can have a pity party with baked goods any time you want…
Seriously, baked goods party… although, given our lack of running, that might not be the best idea!
